Fostering Opportunity
Through our focus on Fostering Opportunity, our Foundation will support efforts to provide a fair chance for low-income youth and their families, seeking to overcome barriers imposed by race, gender or origin and the inequities imposed by poverty. Fostering Opportunity includes two major initiatives: Better Beginnings and Pathways to Success. Both focus on critical periods of development in the lives of young people, seeking innovative ways to transform the conditions that prevent them from realizing their full potential.
Enhancing Quality of Life
Young people, families and entire communities need healthy, green, inspiring places to grow and develop. They also need engaging and entertaining arts that educate, inspire and unify. We're investing in our home town, Atlanta, through our focus on Inspiring Spaces and The Art of Change — seeking ways to enliven the heart of our city and enrich the lives of its people. We seek partners with a passion for preserving parks and green space and for bringing the new Symphony Center to fruition. Both are important, as inclusive gathering places that improve the quality of life for everyone.
Family Foundation Speaker Series
Through the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation Speaker Series, our Foundation brings into Atlanta world renown innovators. Through these events, our Foundation is able to convene individuals around issues and ideas that will shape the quality of life for families in Atlanta and beyond. The Blank Family Foundation aspires to spur civic action and citizen involvement for positive change in people’s lives.
Affiliated Funds
Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation
The Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation (AFYF) was established in 1985 to serve as the philanthropic arm of the Atlanta Falcons. Since Arthur Blank acquired the Atlanta Falcons in 2002, AFYF has grown to be the largest owner-funded foundation in the National Football League, providing more than $16 million in grants to nonprofit organizations across the state of Georgia to improve youth fitness and reduce childhood obesity.
Mountain Sky Guest Ranch
Known by guests for their caring, attentive service, the staff at Mountain Sky is also known by residents in the local community for the same thing. Throughout the year, our staff gives back to the communities in which they live and work — through their physical involvement and through grants made to non-profit organizations by the Mountain Sky Guest Ranch Fund. Established in 2002, the Fund has exceeded $2.0 million in grants.
"If young people do not emerge from high school with the skills they need to succeed in getting at least some postsecondary education and training, their life chances just fall off a cliff."
