Margaret Connelly
Vice President for Programs
As Vice President for Programs for The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, Margaret is responsible for three program areas: Inspiring Spaces, Pathways to Success, and Better Beginnings.
Margaret previously served the organization
as the Senior Program Officer for Inspiring Spaces where she guided
the Foundation's strategy surrounding the creation of a
great park system for the City of Atlanta. She is currently a
board member of the Funders' Network for Smart Growth and Livable
Communities. She has been a member of Atlanta Mayor Shirley
Franklin's Task Force on Parks and Green Space; and supported
the work of the Mayor's Parks Commission. She has also been a
2002 Southeastern Council of Foundation's Hull Fellow; and served
on the Environmental Grantmakers Association's 2003 Program
Committee and the Funders' Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities 2005 Program Committee.
Margaret started her career in Atlanta as a crisis counselor with
the Fulton County Health Department in the Division of Mental Health.
She worked for four years doing substance abuse prevention and education
for a local community coalition, Mission New Hope, and worked for
two years with United Way immediately prior to starting at the Foundation.
Margaret is the past chair of the Artemis Guild at Fernbank Museum of Natural History and is an avid supporter of the arts. She is a graduate
of Syracuse University with a degree in psychology. Margaret enjoys running, cooking, reading and spending time with her husband, Matthew Connelly.
