Stephanie Blank has a passion for making a difference. A native
of North Carolina, she grew up believing that education and community
involvement are twin pathways to creating a just and more inclusive
society.
As an advocate for children, Stephanie serves as a board member of Camp Sunshine, a board member of The Emory University Board of Visitors, and an advisory board member of the Atlanta Outward Bound Center. She has also served on the boards or committees of the Woodruff Arts Center, the Atlanta Symphony Center, the William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum in Atlanta, and was a member of the Tourism Task Force of the Governor’s Commission for A New Georgia. Currently, she serves as Chair of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation Board of Trustees and the Atlanta Falcons Women’s Association. She chaired the capital campaign for the Imagine It! Children’s Museum of Atlanta and is a co-founder of Mothers & Others for Clean Air.
Both Stephanie and her husband, Arthur M. Blank, are well-known as community leaders and philanthropists. Driven by their belief in the importance of giving back to society, they devote their time and financial resources to numerous causes, including the arts, education, youth and the environment.
Stephanie is a trustee of The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. Foundation and personal grants to nonprofit organizations total more than $220 million, including grants to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry, Hands On Atlanta, Outward Bound, the Piedmont Park Conservancy, and Zoo Atlanta. Together, Arthur and Stephanie were named as the 2000 Georgia Philanthropists of the Year by the National Society of Fundraising Executives. In 2001, they were joint recipients of the Anti-Defamation League’s Abe Goldstein Human Relations Award.
Stephanie received the Girls’ Opportunities for Adventure and Leadership "Going for the GOAL" Award in 2001. In 2002, she was named to the YWCA of Greater Atlanta’s Academy of Women Achievers.
In 1999, she directed a portion of The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation's
giving toward a pilot program to bring the Anti-Defamation League’s
nationally recognized Peer Training Program to Fulton County
Schools. This resulted in empowering hundreds of middle and high
school students with the skills to confront prejudice and to serve
as leaders for positive change in their schools. Since that time,
she has dedicated much of her time toward the goal of fostering
understanding and reducing violence among young people from diverse
cultural and economic backgrounds.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Her professional interior design career has focused on creating a positive "sense of place" for people, designing welcoming and comfortable work and home environments that enable people to feel and to be their best. Her work has been featured at the 1999 and 2000 Symphony Decorator Showhouse in Atlanta, and at the American Craft Council Show. She also serves on the Architectural Advisory Committee for the new Atlanta Symphony Center.
Stephanie and Arthur Blank are the parents of three young children, a son and boy-and-girl twins.
